1st Published Poem Of Anand Bakhshi

By  |

The expanse of Hindi cinema is unfathomable. Many artists are made, many are erased with no traces. Some rise up above all this. They become an industry by themselves. They become a phenomenon. Anand Bakhshi is one such artist. He is an industry in himself. He is a phenomenon. With thousands of songs to his credit, he simply stands tall in his work.

And this is how exactly the phenomenon began. The industry called Anand Bakhshi laid the foundation with some delightful poems. Have a look at his 1st published poem in 1950, which was shared by his son Rakesh Anand Bakhshi on his Twitter page.

1st Poem published of Anand Prakash Bakhshi. On March 25 1950, in the Army publication, Sainik Samachar. This gave him the confidence to try his luck in Hindi cinema as a writer.

Girengi bijliyan kab tak, jalenge aashiyan kab tak
Khilaf ahl-e- chaman ke tu rahenge aasma kabtak.
Satayega, rulayega, jaleyega jahan kabtak,
Zameeron , zehenon, jism, jaan se, niklega dhuan kab tak.
Nizam- e- gulistaan, ahl-e-gulistan hi sambhalenge,
Teri manmaniyan, teri hukumat, baaghban kab tak.
Hamari badnaseebi ki aakhir koi hadh hogi,
Rahoge hum par tum, na meherban, ae meherbaan kab tak.
Meri aankhen barasti hain musalsal hijr mein Bakhshi,
Muqabil inke barsengi bhala ye badliyan kab tak.

Translated:
Girengi bijliyan kab tak, jalenge aashiyan kab tak
Khilaf ahl-e- chaman ke (against nature), tu rahenge aasma kabtak.
(referring to sky as his own destiny)
Satayega, rulayega, jaleyega jahan kabtak,
Zameeron (self esteem) , zeheno, (mind) jism, jaan se, niklega dhuan kab tak.
Nizam- e- gulistaan, (managing a gardern) ehl-e- gulistan hi sambhalenge,
Teri manmaniyan, teri hukumat, baagh baan (gardner) kab tak.
(referring to gardner as himself, till when will you rule over my destiny, one day the gardner will take charge of his own garden)
Hamari badnaseebi ki aakhir koi hadh hogi,
Rahoge hum par tum, na meherban, ae meherbaan kab tak.
Meri aankhen barasti hain musalsal (continuous) hijr (darkness, loneliness) mein bakshi,
Muqabil (against) inke barsengi bhala ye badliyan (dark rain clouds) kab tak.
