Asha Bhosle Declared as the Greatest Singer of Bollywood
Her identity personifies versatility and this is the reason that the UK based newspaper Eastern Eye has declared Asha Bhosle the greatest Bollywood playback singer. Asha Bhosle has topped the list from last 85 years beating even her sister Lata Mangeshkar, in the account of popularity, fanbase, international impact, versatility, number of songs and honours received.
Among other professionals in the industry Lata Mangeshkar came second in the list of talented singers, Mohd Rafi came third and Kishore Kumar was fourth while Mukesh was fifth in the list, Shreya Ghoshal featured in the seventh position, Geeta Dutt in tenth, Sonu Nigam in fourteenth, Kumar Sanu in seventeenth and Kavita Krishnamurthy in nineteenth.
Asjad Nazir the editor of Eastern Eye spoke about the incredible career of almost eight decades of the singer and appreciated her for the versatility which has gained her not only the widest body of work but she has also taken Bollywood music to the new frontiers.
An UK based singer Rita Morar described Asha Bhosle as an artist of pure inspiration and also credited her for breaking genres in music and retaining the power of emotion and energy in her song.
Rapper Swami Baracus also credited Asha Bhosle for her versatile singing and also brought in the fact that collaborations like Boy George, Kronos Quartet and even Australian cricket Brett Lee have showcased her global appeal. Barcaus appreciated the singer also for always stepping out from her comfort zone when it comes to her versatile singing.
The 81 year old Asha Bhosle adds one more feather to her cap and yet there comes another occasion for her fans to rejoice over her tremendous achievement.
