His songs are the remixed and heard across generations. He is considered to be one of the most seminal musical directors of Hindi cinema. He, to his record has repertoire of songs which are evergreen and till date popular. R. D. Burman or Pancham Da, contributed as a singer and a composer.

Pancham Da and his music are immortal to the music industry of Indian cinema and so is his connection with his wife and ever versatile singer of Indian movies Asha Bhosle. Beginning with their partnership in Teesri Manzil (1966) the composer and singer duo gave varied range of hit songs in Indian cinema. Their pair revolutionized the music world of cinema.

In the year 1985 this musical pair stepped into the beautiful relation of marriage and since then their names are inseparable. This article brings to you yet another effort  Asha Bhosle, to recreate Pancham Da’s magic. This collection is a compilation of songs chosen by Asha Bhosle herself. These songs are originally crooned by R. D. Burman. Pancham Tumi Kothai is the name of the album and the music is re-arranged by Nitin Shankar, who is an ardent follower of Burman.

The album takes you to a journey of romantic songs. Some songs like ‘Jete jete pothe holo deri’, ‘Mone porey ruby roy’, ‘Ele na tumi je’ definitely will remind you of  Hindi songs ‘Tere bina zindagi se koi’, ‘Meri bheegi bheegi si’, ‘Duniya me logon ko’ , respectively. All the songs in Bengali and Hindi are composed by Burman himself. These hit songs of Bengali industry which have been charming the listeners for years now cherishes one’s memories and also the new and contemporary touch given to the songs leaves you refreshed.
