Veteran Actress Nimmi No More

Veteran Hindi film actress Nawab Bano better known as Nimmi passed away due to prolonged illness in Mumbai. She was 87. Nimmi achieved stardom from films like Aan, Sazaa, Kundan, Udan Khatola, Akashdeep, Pooja Ke Phool, Bhai Bhai, her debut being Barsaat (1949). It was Raj Kapoor who gave her the screen name, Nimmi. Nimmi had met Raj Kapoor on the sets of Andaz where she was invited by filmmaker Mehboob Khan. Nimmi was also known as the unkissed girl of India. With her passing away, the galaxy of the 50s lost one more illuminating star leaving a void, dark spot.

I have watched her an interview yesterday but what is a wonder she is no more today.
