Actress Sridevi Passes Away

In what came as a rude shock, heartbreaking shock, actress Sridevi passed away in Dubai last night due to cardiac arrest. Sridevi, 54, was one of the most celebrated actresses of the Hindi film industry and widely regarded as its first female superstar. Her sudden death has shocked her countless fans and the entire film fraternity.
Sridevi, who made her acting debut at the age of four in a Tamil movie Kandan Karunai, went on to become industry’s first female superstar with films like Julie, Solvan Sawan, Sadma, Mawali, Tofaa, Nagina, Chandni, Chaalbaaz, Lamhe, etc including some films from the regional languages. She earned the star status with her sparkling performance in Mr. India (1987). Born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan, Sridevi appeared in more than a 100 movies, spanning six decades, and picking up many awards for her performances.
After taking a decade long break from her work, she returned in 2012 with English Vinglish. She was last seen in Mom (2017) an avenge thriller.
