The young and fresh actress, Deepika Padukone is no less than an idol among the Bollywood lovers. Deepika Padukone is a celebrated name for contribution she has done as an actress to Indian cinema.
Born on 5th January 1986 to Ujjala and to the badminton player Prakash Padukone, the actress was raised in the localities of Bangalore. In her teenage she played national level badminton champions but later took her steps towards the world of modelling where she was initially trained by Prasad Bidappa. After doing some TV commercials and appearing in Kingfisher Calendar, the path opened her way to the world of cinema.
She embarked her acting journey with the Kannada movie Aishwarya in the year 2006. She stepped into Bollywood with Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om in 2007 opposite to King Khan, Shahrukh Khan. The movie portrayed the double role of the actress and won her the Filmfare award for the category of Best Female Debut.
The journey in the industry at initial stages was not that of a smooth one for the actress; if she gained recognition for few roles, called for criticism as well for her acting in few other works. Homi Adajania’s Cocktail in the year 2012 proved to be the turning point for the actress. She got critically acclaimed for her role which beckoned the fame and recognition for the actress in Hindi film industry. Movies like Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express, Finding Fanny, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Piku, Tamasha, Bajirao Mastani, etc raised Deepika Padukone to the level of established actress in Bollywood.
