Behind the Scene Story of Tujhse Naraz Nahin Zindagi
Remember the beautiful song ‘Tujhse Naraz Nahin Zindagi’ from the movie Masoom (1983)? It has got a fascinating story to be unfolded. Originally, only Anup Ghoshal’s version was finalised for the film. The film, at that stage just had two songs one being ‘Tujhse Naraz’ and another one ‘Do Naina’ sung by Arti Mukherjee, as the film was made on a shoestring budget and there was no scope for any mainstream singers in the film.
But, just before the music release of the film, HMV warned the production that music of the movie won’t sell in the market. as it did not have a popular voice. It is because of this threat that Lata Mangeshkar was approached in the last hour to record the same track. Not only this, the picturatisation of the song in the film was taken from an unused footage of the shooting as the production ran out of money to shoot a new song.
In spite of such hurdles, what an outcome and it went on to become a superhit album with some soulful and melodious songs. Here are both the versions for you.
Which version do you like?

popular voice or artist can’t make the thing successful… it is the story, lyrics, n music…hope the business will understand the value of talent not the name or face…

You are asking about ‘liking’ which version, I just love both the versions, in fact remember the lyrics by heart,’itni baar suna hai’ and would continue to do so.

Anup Ghoshal. it has depth and pain which the female version lacks. listen to both songs without video and you will feel the pain of a helpless father
