Eminent Singer Subir Sen passes away

Eminent singer Subir Sen, known for his renditions in many Hindi and Bengali films, passed away today at a private hospital following lung cancer, hospital sources said.

He was 81 and was keeping unwell for the past few months. He is survived by his wife and a daughter.
Despite singing many famous songs, he failed to attain due fame in the industry. He was always marked as a Hemant Kumar clone.

From the fifties till the eighties, Sen had sung a number of hit songs. He had also sung duets with Asha Bhonsle and Lata Mangeshkar.

Some of his hit numbers include “Main rangeela pyar ka rahi”, “Manzil wahi hai pyar ki”, “Dil mera ek aas ka panchhi” and many more hit Bengali numbers.
