Begum Parveen Sultana is a Hindustani Classical singer of Patiala Gharana. She hails from Assam. She received some early training from her grandfather who was a Pathan. Her first Guru was her father. He was very strict. As child Parveen was permitted to listen only to the songs of Lata Mangeshkar & established classical singers. She’s conferred with the Padma Shri (1976) , Padma Bhushan (2014) & Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (1999).

In Hindi film music she’s best known for “Humein tumse pyar kitna” from “Kudrat” for which she got a Filmfare award. Let us enjoy some more songs of Parveen Sultana in Hindi films & wish her a very happy birthday!!!
