From Bikini Babe to Kashmir Ki Kali – Sharmila Tagore has always looked graceful

Not too many heroines in India were bold enough to appear in a bikini in a movie. Sharmila Tagore did that with so much grace in An Evening in Paris ( 1967 ). She also posed for a photo shoot in Filmfare in 1968 where she posed in a Bikini. This established her as sex symbol of Indian film industry.

She was born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh on 8th Dec, 1944. She started her career in Bengali film Apur Sansar ( 1959 ) by Satyajit Ray but she achieved more fame when Shakti Samanta introduced her to Bollywood in Kashmir Ki Kali ( 1964 ).
