Lyricist Anwar Sagar No More

This year seems to be a very sad year for the Indian film industry as it has lost many a gems back to back. It’s been only few days that we lost music composer Wajid Ali and now comes the news that yet another personality from the industry has left for heavenly abode.

We came to know a while ago that veteran lyricist Anwar Sagar died today, 3rd June 2020. He was admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital where he breathed his last. However, the reason behind his death is not known yet.

Anwar Sagar, who worked predominantly in the ’80s and ’90s, has worked with several
music directors like Anu Malik, Jatin-Lalit, Nadeem-Shravan and Rajesh Roshan. He was a part of movies like Vijaypath, Yaarana, Aa Gale Lag Jaa and Salaami.

‘Waada Raha Sanam’, the romantic chartbuster from the movie Khiladi, can be termed as his best work till date. The song featuring Akshay Kumar and Ayesha Jhulka became widely popular.
