Some New Songs For Your Road Trip

In the last article we saw some old songs for making your journey more enjoyable. Here let us look at some new songs which can be enjoyed on any kind of trip. Sometimes a journey can be really tiresome and unnecessarily long. At such times these songs come to our rescue and take us on another fantasy tour of our own. Just close your eyes and listen to these wonderful songs.

1. Title song – Dil Chahta Hai (2001)
This movie became a cult with the youth at that time. The dressing style of the actors, the songs, everything became instant hit. And yes, taking road trips with friends (especially to Goa) became a trend.

Featuring Aamir Khan, Akshaye Khanna and Saif Ali Khan; this song is sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Clinton Cerejo. It is composed by Shankar Ehsan Loy and the lyrics are written by Javed Akhtar.

2. Chalo tumko lekar chale – Jism (2002)
This movie marked the debut of John Abraham and Bipasha Basu. The movie was a very big hit and so was the music. This song is sung by Shreya Ghoshal and composed by M.M. Kreem while the lyrics are by Neelesh Mishra.

Just let go yourself while listening to this song and it will surely transport you to another place.


3. Ye haseen waadiyan (1992)

The song features Arwind Swami and Madhoo and is sung by S.P. Balasubramaniam and K.S. Chithra. It is composed by A.R. Rahman and the lyrics are by P.K. Mishra.

The flow of the song is amazing and the arrangement is fabulous. This song can be a great companion if you are travelling alone.

4. O bhanware – Daud (1997)
This Yesudas and Asha Bhosle duet has an amazing resonance to it. It is composed by A.R. Rahman and the lyrics are by Mehboob. It is featured on Urmila Matondkar and Sanjay Dutt.

5. Chhod aaye hum – Maachis (1996)
This Vishal Bharadwaj composition is penned by Gulzar who also directed the movie. This song is sung by Hariharan, Suresh Wadkar, KK and Vinod Sehgal. All these singers have completely different voice quality and yet their voices blend together beautifully and we have this song.

6. O humdum suniyo – Saathiya (2002)
A Gulzar-Rahman song, it is sung by Kunal Ganjawala, A.R. Rahman, KK, Shan and Pravin Mani. This is a nice blend of Indian and rap music which just makes it a must for a road trip.

7. Patakha guddi – Highway (2014)
This song has two versions and we are talking about the female version sung by the sisters Sultana Nooran and Jyoti Nooran. It is composed by A. R. Rahman and the lyrics are by Irshan Kamil. It features Aliya Bhat and Randeep Hooda.

8. Journey Song – Piku (2015)
This song, as the name says, is apt for a road trip. It is featured in the film in which journey is a major aspect of the story. The song is written and composed by Anupam Roy. He has also sung this song along with Shreya Ghoshal.

9. Chhaiyya chhaiyya – Dil Se (1998)
Who can forget the beautiful Malaika Arora dancing on the train top along with Shah Rukh Khan in the movie Dil Se! This iconic song is composed by A.R. Rahman and is written by Gulzar. It is sung by Sapna Awasthi and Sukhwinder Singh.

10. Yunhi chala chal – Swades (2004)
This philosophical song talks about the journey of life. It is composed by A.R. Rahman and written by Javed Akhtar. It is sung by Udit Narayan, Hariharan and Kailash Kher.

11. Khwabon ke parindey – Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011)
Penned by Javed Akhtar and composed by Shankar Ehsan Loy, this song is sung by Alyssa Mendonsa and Mohit Chauhan. This movie too has ‘journey’ as a major part of the story. The song majorly features Hrithik Roshan.

12. Ruki ruki thi zindagi – Mast (1999)
A train song again, this one features a very energetic Urmila Matondkar and Aftab Shivdasani. This song is composed by Sandeep Chowta and is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Sonu Nigam. It will surely pack a punch in your boring journey.

So these are just a few songs from new films which can be a great companion for your journeys; however small or long they might be. We are sure that some songs would be played on loop, right?
