Remembering Hasrat Jaipuri through his daughter’s poem

By  |

Hindi cinema is overloaded with song for every moment. There are songs which give us comfort, peace. Then there are the ones which are romantic, seductive, thrilling, full of love and also sometimes mystery. However the person behind these words or lyrics is usually forgotten. The lyricist pours his heart into a song and makes it peerless, alluring and appealing. Hasrat Jaipuri, who is also known as the “King of Romance” is one such lyricist. Writing romantic numbers was his speciality.

Born on 15th April, 1922 in Jaipur, as Iqbal Hussain, he studied till tenth standard and then acquired education in Urdu and Persian from his learned grandfather, Fida Hussain. He began writing verses at a very young age. Starting with Barsaat (1949), his career was marked as that of an unpretentious lyricist.

His daughter Kishwari Jaipuri, pays tribute to him on his birthday through a short poem.

My Heartfelt Tributes in a Poem written by Me …Dad’s Laadli beti who misses her Dad Every Moment ……Dad Tum Sab Ko Chhod Kar Aa Jaao …. My Sentiments penned down by me remembering Dad on his Birth Anniversary …I have Tears in my Eyes As I type this Poem !

Yun humse juda hoke chal diye Daddy
Jaise qayamat se pehle qayamat aa jaaye…
Yaad unki soone dil pe yun dastak deti hai
Jaise shokh hawa thandak laaye….
Unka chehra rukh-e-roshan karta hai aaj bhi
Jaise suraj se pehle roshni si chhaye
“Kishwari” ko naaz hai apne Daddy pe aise
Jaise chand ko chandni pe naaz ho jaaye
……”

Dad’s Laadli Beti ..K.J
(Kishwari Jaipuri)

When asked which of his songs is close to her heart, she said it was a song from “Deewana” (Mukesh version)

Meri chhoti si behen Kishwari ka interview 28 November, 2016 ko Shri Sujoy Chhaterjee ne liya tha. Yes, Taaron se pyare remains her top favourite. The other songs that she loves are..1.” Aisa na ho ki in waadiyon mein “; “Rukh se zara naqab uthha do” &” Aji rooth kar ab kahan “.

I would request all Hasrat saabs fans to definitely read the personal interview of Kishwari on her dad. The link is———–radioplaybackindia.blogspot.com/2015/02/interview-of-lyricist-hasrat-jaipuris.html
