Another loss for the Indian music industry which have left everybody heartbroken. The music composer and lyricist Ravindra Jain passed away on 9th October 2015, leaving behind a repertoire of work to be always remembered by the audience of Indian cinema.

Jain who was 71 years old was suffering from urinal infection when he succumbed to the disease at Lilavati hospital in Mumbai. Having prior commitments the composer was in Pune last week to attend a concert but failed to attend it due to ill health and subsequently brought to Mumbai for further check up.

Overcoming his disability of blindness he became an inspiration for many people. Jain gained fame in Hindi cinema by composing evergreen music for the films like Chor Machaye Shor (1974), Geet Gata Chal (1975), Chitchor (1976), Akhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se (1978), Saudagar (1973). He composed melodious music for Raj Kapoor’s movies like Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Do Jasoos and Heena. It was Jain who brought the singing maestro Dr. K. J. Yesudas to Hindi cinema. He has given music for many of Ramanand Sagar’s TV serials.

It is sad to know that he is not there with us anymore but his footsteps will always serve as a guiding mark in the music industry.
