Some New Boat Songs – Let’s Rock This Boat – Part 2

In the earlier article we saw some old songs which were featured on or around a boat. Now, let us take this boat journey further and enter the newer age songs. Some of them are filmed on a raft too!

1. Sajana ji vari vari – Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2007)
This energetic song is composed by Vishal Shekhar and sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Shekhar Ravjiani. It features KK Menon in a completely different avatar. Watch him dance to this tune.

2. Pyar ki kashti mein hai – Kaho Naa Pyar Hai (2000)
This song features Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel. It is composed by Rajesh Roshan and the lyrics are by Saawan Kumar Tak. It is sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik.

3. Jee le jee le – U Me Aur Hum (2008)
This film was Ajay Devgn’s first directorial venture. This amazing song is featured on a grand cruise ship and it stars Ajay Devgn and Kajol, among other actors of the film. It is sung by Adnan Sami and Shreya Ghoshal. It is composed by Vishal Bharadwaj and the lyrics are penned by Munna Dhiman.

4. Gallan goodiyan – Dil Dhadakne Do (2015)
This song is composed by Shankar Ehsan Loy and is written by Javed Akhtar. It is sung by Shankar Mahadevan, Sukhwinder Singh, Farhan Akhtar, Yashita Sharma and Manish Kumar Tipu. This grand song is picturised on a cruise ship and features almost the entire star cast of the movie.

5. Naav hai teri – Udaan (2010)
This song is from the critically-acclaimed movie Udaan. It is not featured on any boat or a ship but talks about life with the boat being the symbol for the protagonist in the midst of all the chaos. It is composed by Amit Trivedi and the lyrics are by Amitabh Bhattacharya. It is sung by Mohan Kanan.

6. Aye kaash ke hum – Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1994)
This soulful song is sung by Kumar Sanu and is composed by Jatin-Lalit. It is penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri. This song is featured on Shah Rukh Khan and Suchitra Krishnamurthy.

7. Anjana anjani – Yuva (2004)
This song is picturised on Vivek Oberoi and Kareena Kapoor, but is not lip synced; it just plays in the background. It is sung by Sunitha Sarathy and Karthik and composed by A.R. Rahman while the lyrics are by Mehboob.

8. Raat ka nasha abhi – Asoka (2001)
This K.S. Chithra song from the period drama Asoka is composed by Anu Malik and written by Gulzar. It features Kareena Kapoor travelling on a raft.

9. Chupke se sun – Mission Kashmir (2000)
As the name suggests, the film is based on Kashmir issue. Many songs of this film are featured on a shikara. The composers for this movie are Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy; but they composed different songs separately. This particular song is composed by Shankar Mahadevan and is sung by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan. It features Hrithik Roshan and Priety Zinta.

10. Jiya jale jaan jale – Dil Se (1998)
This song is featured on an old boat in Kerala. It is composed by A.R. Rahman and written by Gulzar. The singers are Lata Mangeshkar and M.G. Sreekumar. It features Priety Zinta and Shah Rukh Khan.
