Swag Se Swagat – Salman’s Roaring Welcome – Tiger Zinda Hai

These are the opening lines of the newest song from the movie Tiger Zinda Hai which is slated for a late December release. It is a sequel to the Ek Tha Tiger Franchise which was released in 2012. It is said to be based on the abduction of the Indian nurses by ISIL in 2014.

The movie stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles and Swag Se Swagat is the latest ‘it’ song as far as the young generation and Salman Khan Fans are concerned. Written by Irshad Kamil, the song is composed by Vishal-Shekhar and sung by Neha Bhasin and Vishal Dadlani.

The lyrics are a mix of English and Hindi and the composition makes it a somewhat Hinglish Rap song. The beats are heart-thumping and the music is adrenaline pumping. In short, a completely youth oriented song, crafted for the pubs and the parties.

Devoted to love, love is everything for me, there is nothing beyond love nor above it; without which I’m nothing. Clearly, love is the message (as stated in the opening lyrics) that they want to give.

This is not just the love between two people that they are talking about, but the love which should be between two neighboring countries.

Chahe jo aaye dil mein leke ishq mohobbat
Sabko gale lagana apne culture ki hai aadat
Swag se karenge sabka swagat

Whoever comes to us with love in their heart, we embrace them with full sincerity, (we really don’t discriminate) as that is what we have learnt from our culture. And be rest assured, the welcome that you will get will be full of swag and style.

P.S.: The other day, I listened to this song in the car and it really was sounding awesome. But beware, Salman and car generally don’t mix well.
