The Face Tells It All – Chehra: Part 2

As most of you know that I usually divide the articles in two parts based on old and new songs. I’ve followed the same pattern in this one too. The earlier article dealt with older songs of our theme “chehra” while this one has relatively newer ones. If we take a closer look, we’ll see that the essential idea of some of the songs remains the same while its treatment differs according to the era it belongs to.

The heroine is still compared to the moon. In another one the beloved is asked to consider the heart rather than looking at the face. compared to a mirror which reflects the other person’s persona and somewhere the face is simply described as a beauty hidden behind the veil.
