The Muntashir Verses – Collection of Hits
In this collection we will visit one of the best works by noted lyricist Manoj Muntashir who shot to fame with chartbuster song ‘Galliyan’ (‘Ek Villain’), which came out in 2014. The song made Manoj Muntashir a household name. Very few would know that Manoj Muntashir’s real name is Manoj Shukla. He arrived in Mumbai from Amethi, Uttar Pradesh in the late 90s. His first work as a lyricist was a non-film album released by Polydor in 1999 and he made his debut in films with ‘U Me N Bomsi’ in 2005. After early days of struggle he found success. Apart from being a prolific lyricist, he is the most sought after writer of reality shows on Indian television. He has worked for major production houses and channels as a television script and screenwriter.
The most notable work and loved song of his career is ‘Teri Mitti’ from Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari. The song induces goose-bumps. Manoj Muntashir’s words give his songs an extra edge and makes them truly memorable. He has the art of using chaste Hindi words with such an ease that the average listener finds it extremely easy to relate with.

1.Teri Mitti – Kesari (2019)
The generations from now will remember this heartfelt patriotic song from the movie Kesari featuring Akshay Kumar. The soulful musician from Bengal Arko has composed the beautiful song. The song has some extraordinary thoughts written by Manoj Muntashir and conveyed with true emotions by Punjabi ace music director B Praak. This is one of the best patriotic song ever made in Indian Cinema. The string section of the song is mind blowing, beautifully and flawlessly programmed and arranged by Aditya Dev. 2. Teri Galliyan – Ek Villain (2014)
Manoj Muntashir shot to fame with this powerful romantic ballad that went on to become the love anthem of the year. The chartbuster featured in Ek Villain, a Bollywood romantic thriller movie directed by Aashiqui 2’s director Mohit Suri.The song features Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor. 3. Tere Sang Yaara – Rustom (2016)
This romantic soft song features Akshay Kumar and Ileana D’Cruz, the chemistry between them is impeccable. The melodious song dipped in romance and emotions, is sung by Atif Aslam who sets the temperature high with his romantic voice complimenting the soulful composition by Arko.This dreamy song became popular and hit amongst the youth instantly. 4. Kaise Hua – Kabir Singh (2019)
“Kaise Hua” is one of the most popular happy yet-intense romantic songs penned by Manoj Muntashir. Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani feature in the song from the film Kabir Singh. 5. Kaun Tujhe – MS Dhoni: The Untold Story
Yet another romantic song written by Manoj Muntashir, the song is sung by Palak Muchhal, composed by Amaal Mallik. The beautiful lyrics were critically acclaimed and the song features Sushant Singh Rajput as MS Dhoni & Disha Patani. This song became popular because of the simplicity of its composition, singing, lyrics, and arrangement.

6. Mere Rashke Qamar – Badshaho (2017)
The original song by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan The song was recreated by lyricist Manoj Muntashir and composer Tanishk Bagchi for Milan Luthria’s 2017 Hindi film Baadshaho The new version is sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. It features original version of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s voice. Featuring Ajay Devgn and Illeana D’Cruz,the video has been shot in different locales of Bikaner, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. 7. Phir Bhi Tumko Chahunga – Half Girlfriend (2017)
Main Phir Bhi Tumko Chahunga is a sweet romantic track from Half Girlfriend. The song is sung by Arijit Singh & Shashaa Tirupati and composed by Mithoon. Manoj Muntashir’s lyrics strikes the emotional chord. The song features Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.
