Different from the Ordinary: Collection of Rajkummar Rao Hits
Rajkummar Rao is one of the few outsiders in Indian Cinema to make it big in the industry. Many of us do not know that Rajkummar Rao’s real name is Rajkumar Yadav. Born in Gurugram, the theatre actor after graduating from the University of Delhi joined India’s premiere acting Institute – Film and Television Institute of India to study acting. He graduated from there and moved to Mumbai to chance his arm in the industry and pursue his career in acting there in 2008. The method actor got his first break in Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Love Sex aur Dhoka’ in 2010.
After few months of struggle his talent and hard work landed him the role of his career, that of Shahid Azmi. The critically acclaimed biographical drama garnered him the prestigious National Film Award for Best Actor and the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. Since then there was no looking back for the actor who rose to prominence with his portrayal of every character he played since then. The versatile actor has a filmography that boasts of diverse genres including drama, romantic comedy, black comedy, horror comedy and more.

1. Muskurane Ki Wajah Tum Ho – Citylights (2014)
A beautiful song from Hansal Mehta’s Citylights featuring his hero from Shahid – very talented Rajkummar Rao. This song is sung by Arijit Singh, He sang a wonderful song called Beparwah in Mehta’s previous film also. The video also features Patralekha. 2. Teri Yaadon Mein- Behen Hogi Teri (2017)
The romantic comedy was released in 2017. The video features Shruti Haasan along with Rajkummar Rao. The melodious track is written by the duo of Amit Dhanani, Yash Narvekar. Music is created by Naamless and sung by Pavni Pandey, Yash Narvekar, and Yasser Desai. The video can be viewed here
3. .Tu Banja Gali Benaras Ki – Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana (2017)
The film had a fantastic script and awesome performances by actors. A melodious composition by Rashid Khan with lyrics penned by Shakeel Azmi. This romantic love song is sung by Asit Tripathy and features Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda in it. The video can be viewed here
4. The Wakhra Song – Judgementall Hai Kya (2019)
Tanishk Bagchi recreated the Navv Inder and Badshah’s hit song Wakhra Swag. The new version of the song featured in this Bollywood film. The video features Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao. The song is originally composed by Badshah and written by Navi Kamboz and additional Wakhra Swag lyrics are penned by Navi Kamboz, music producer Tanishk Bagchi and rapper Rajakumari. 5. Valam – Made in China (2019)
Another fine performance in this context by Rajkummar Rao. The song is sung by Arijit Singh and Priya Saraiya, and has been composed by Sachin-Jigar while Priya Saraiya and Sachin Sanghvi have written the Valam lyrics in Hindi and Gujarati. The song is from the Hindi movie Made in China starring Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy. The video can be viewed here.
6. Halka Halka – Fanney Khan (2018)
The song features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao. The song is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan & Divya Kumar, composed & produced by Amit Trivedi while lyrics are written Irshad Kamil.

7. Nazar Na Lag Jaaye – Stree (2019)
The romantic song is sung by Ash King and has music composed and produced by Sachin-Jigar with lyrics written by Vayu starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in the music video. The video can be viewed here
A melodious soulful song written by Shellee and composed by Karan Kulkarni, beautifully rendered by Arijit Singh. This song is from Hansal Mehta’s film which is based on the life of lawyer and human rights activist, Shahid Azmi. The video can be viewed here.
9. Mainu Rang Lageya – Shimla Mirch (2020)
The song is sung by Piyush Mehroliyaa, and has music by Meet Bros Anjjan while Shabbir Ahmed has written the Mainu Rang Lageya lyrics for the song. The video features Rajkummar Rao, and Rakul Preet.

10. Badass Babuaa – Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017)
The awesome popular song features Rajkummar Rao in a very different Avatar. The funny video also features Ayushman Khurana. This is such a cool track composed by Sameer Uddin and written by Akshay Verma. The song “Badass Babua” is sung by Abhishek Nailwal, Neha Bhasin & Sameer Uddin. The video can be viewed here.
