Dev Anand – Vibing Alone

In between the intersection of solitude, leisure and flow, vibing alone sits distinctly as it captures the art of self containment. It oscillates between finding complete ease, enjoyment and comfort in your own company, without needing anyone’s validation. It reflects a quiet self-reliance. Vibing alone does not mean being lonely. The pleasure of being alone without feeling lonely, observing, absorbing, dreaming and simply enjoying the moment, a perfect idea of being a flaneur.

Dev Anand had something of that flaneur in him – the eternal wanderer. Carrying an easy curiosity about the street, music, clothes, people and life itself. Hum hain raahi pyar ke – With the steering wheel of a dilapidated truck in his hand, Dev Anand turns a solitary road trip into an adventurous art. Accepting the fleeting nature of life with an easy smile, vibing alone with the rhythm of the wheels, he embodies an untethered spirit. Whistling his way through the journey, needing no passenger or destination to complete him. Knowing that the deeper pleasure lies in moving through the world without knowing the exact destination. Ye dil na hota bechara – With a gloriously restless heart, he refuses to behave or take life too seriously. Dev Anand personifies someone who is perfectly happy to follow his own impulses and enjoys the ride. Moving at his own rhythm, but he’s not lonely.
