Ganesh Chaturthi, a festival which is celebrated with utmost enthusiasm and happiness. A ten-day spectacle which is celebrated all over India but primarily in Maharashtra. It is also considered as one of the most auspicious times of the year. Many people start their new businesses, buy new homes, buy new vehicles etc during this festival. The atmosphere comes alive with the chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya”. Ganpati or Bappa as he is called affectionately, is the remover of obstacles. He also symbolises adaptability, efficiency and intellectual strength. Pure devotion, love and warmth for Bappa can be seen everywhere. People decorate pandals and homes to welcome him. Some make sweets for him. Some dance in front of him or play various instruments while some sing for him. The artists, as if, purify and cleanse their heart, mind and soul by performing in front of their favourite deity.
One such artist is Yatin Sangoi. Based out of Surat, Yatin’s childhood was spent in Mumbai. That’s the reason he is so enthusiastic about the Ganesh Festival. He wanted to compose a song to welcome Bappa this year. It was his way of devoting himself, surrendering himself to the destroyer of evil. As was planned, he approached a few lyricists to write a song on Bappa. But Yatin wasn’t happy with the final outcome. The Ganesh Festival was nearing and Yatin was becoming restless. His song wasn’t yet ready. But as they say – Man proposes and God disposes, Bappa had some other plan. As Yatin lay on his bed, in the wee hours, thinking about whom to approach for the song, it was then that words for the song suddenly crossed his mind –
Raja Dhiraaj, Shiv Nandan, Maa Parvati ke Putra, Devaadhi Dev, Bappa Sarkar Padhaar Rahe Hain….
Hum sab ke dekho sarkar aaye hain
Sab inki jai jai kaar gaaye hain…

And as the day dawned, he was through with the first stanza already. Within 24 hours, his song was all ready. Words, music, every single detail. He has also even given the vocals for the song and was able to execute the song with help of his friends Mehul Surti and Rakesh Munjariya.
It was as if his Bappa Sarkar had blessed him abundantly.
