When i first saw the news in my friend’s FB page i did not believe it. Then i checked several sites. It was a real SHOCK. One who almost monopolized silver screen in 80s, gone like that just at 54 ! Now we read many reports on her desperate effort to remain slim and going under knife repeatedly. Don’t know how much true they are. But then many celebrities do that but they do not pass away like that even though losing consciousness and falling is not very uncommon. Perhaps it’s dehydration / fatigue. Not sure. Whatsoever, that is life. Only GOD decides how long HE would keep the immortal SOUL in this mortal body.
Once Kishore Kumar said in a concert few months before he left for his heavenly aboard, “zindegi ka koyee bharosa nehi. Kya pata kal aap ke saamne dobara a pau ki nehi. Isliye aaj jitna zyada ho sake suna kar jaata hoon” (sic). Then he sang his songs chronologically from his own acting time to Devanand, Rajesh Khanna to latest in 80s with some background story telling.
Sri Devi just had one movie, ENGLISH VINGLISH in her second innings. The were so much waiting for her. But then Kishore da ki wo line phir se yaad aa rahi hain “zindegi ka koyee bharosa nehi”.
    Rest in Peace, Madam

Her performance in “Khuda Gawah” opp Amitabh Bachchan was superb. It was a musical hit film. In fact, it is Laxmikant-Pyarelal have given maximum hit songs for Sridevi, “Nagaina”, “Mr. India”, “Aakhri Rasta”, “Chaal Baaz”, “Khuda Gawah” and many more.
