For the man who wears many hats, Vishal Bharadwaj, is a known name in the HIndi FIlm Industry. He is a director, screen writer, producer, and a music composer but not may know that he has lent his voice for few compositions as well. So taking this journey of “In The Composers’ Voice” ahead today we will explore few songs sung by Vishal Bharadwaj.

He embarked on his journey in the film world as a music composer and later on dabbled with many of the creative aspects of a film. So enjoy the collection of these songs of this versatke artist.


1. O Saathi Re – Omkara (2006)
O Saathi Re is a hindi song from the 2006 movie Omkara. The beautiful track is sung by Shreya Ghoshal along side Vishal Bhardwaj. The song is written by the long term associate, the legendary Gulzar. The video features Kareena Kapoor and Ajay Devgan. The movie was also directed by Vishal bharadwaj and is considered a cult classic. It gained huge popularity and was critically acclaimed.


2. Kash Laga – No Smoking (2007)

The Anurag Kashyap film is one of the best psychological thrillers of all time in Indian Cinema. Everything about the movie was unusual except for this song where Vishal Bharadwaj provided the much needed connect to the subject of the movie along with Sukhwinder Singh and Daler Mehendi. The song was penned by Gulzar. The video features John Abraham.


3. Title Song – U Me Aur Hum (2008)

The Ajay Devgan directorial debut is something which everyone wants to forget except for the title track which has a great soothing feel and has exceptional soulful quality. The male version of the song is sung by Vishal Bharadwaj. This song is considered as one of the best songs for a married couple. The true and pure feelings are very beautifully expressed by him. The song features Ajay Devgan and Kajol.


4. Title Song – Kaminey (2009)

It was not unusual for the composer to go behind the mike. The song starts with a a very soft note and mood but a few seconds later the song establishes the true drama and meaning behind the song. Sung with perfection by not a regular vocalist, the song has its own charm and a great popularity. The video features Shahid Kapoor. The song is composed, written and sung by the main man himself – Vishal Bharadwaj.


5. Yun Hua – Striker (2006)

Striker is an actiona packed thriller-drama featuring Siddharth. The beauty of this song is the composition and the arrangement apart from fantastic vocals. The use of percussion and amazing acoustic guitars with piano blending with drums is the key highlight of the song. Written by Gulzar, the song is composed and sung by Vishal Bharadwaj.


6. Bekaraan – 7 Khoon Maaf (2011)

Bekaraan is an amazing song sung and composed by Vishal Bharadwaj from the movie 7 Khoon Maaf featuring Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan. The movie is directed by Vishal Bharadwaj and the lyrics of the song are written by Gulzar.


7. Khamakha – Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola (2013)

This song features Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma. The song is sung by Prem Dehati along with Vishal Bharadwaj. The song follows the original slow paced trademark style of Vishal Bharadwaj. The song is written by Gulzar.


8. Jhelum – Haider (2014)

The song features Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. Penned by Gulzar, the song is featureds in the crime drama film Haider, with brilliant performance by Shahid Kapoor.
