In The Composers’ Voice – 8: Hemant Kumar

When we talk about songs sung by music directors, Hemant Kumar’s name reverberates with full volume unlike his soft, soulful voice.

This gifted composer has given us so many songs, so many memories and so many happy moments that we didn’t even understand how and when his compositions became a part of our lives. Furthermore, his songs as a singer tiptoed into our minds and hearts and made it a peaceful, serene place.

Hemant Da started his journey (Hindi Film Industry) as a singer with the movie Meenakshi (1942). He sang two songs in this movie for composer Pankaj Mullick.
