Song Sketch
Lagdi Hai Thaai – Simran – Kangana Kind of Song
The latest from the music world is that a new song from the movie Simran is out. It is called ‘Lagadi hai thaai.’ The song is sung by Jonita Gandhi and Guru Randhawa and is composed by the young duo Sachin – Jigar while the lyrics are written by Vayu.
We can see the vivacious Kangana Ranaut dancing to this peppy number. It slightly reminds us of the song ‘London thumakada’ from the movie Queen, not very long ago; but this one is served with a Guajarati twist! The beats are quite similar to that of a regular garba number. No wonder it was played at many a garba dances this navratri (although nowadays any song is played with the garba rhythm).
Watch out for the ‘hatke lyrics’ of this song. Sample this:
Doodho nahao
Phoolo phalo tum
LED jaise karna glow tum
When I first heard the song, it felt as if someone is actually describing Kangana in it. I am sure you’ll love the rhythm and the tune and the lyrics will catch up on your lips pretty soon. Vayu is a composer himself and was recently in news for his song Banno Tera Swagger from Tanu Weds Manu Returns which he had co-composed with Tanishk. He has to his credit one more famous number called as Beat Pe Booty from the movie The Flying Jatt.
In the video we can see many artists along with Kangana dancing and celebrating. It looks as if they are celebrating an engagement or a pre-wedding party where the bride is described as looking pretty when all dressed up. Here she is advised to keep a photograph of her parents and friends (the maika) so that she doesn’t forget them after getting married and getting completely soaked up in her new home and environment.
Simran is directed by Hansal Mehta and is said to be based on the life of Sandeep Kaur who was convicted for four bank robberies. Kangana plays the character named Praful Patel. Now don’t let your brain go berserk, watch the movie instead and know more about it. But for now enjoy the song.
Here are some other dance numbers featuring the ‘curly beauty’ Kangana.
