His dialogue delivery launched Raaj Kumar to the highest stratum of stardom. His complete identification with the characters he portrayed made his roles true to life. Raaj Kumar impressed with his rich baritone voice that revealed his flair for dialogue delivery.

A pencil thin-moustache, with his trademark smoking pipe and a lilt in the voice that mouthed the famous catchphrase ‘jaani’ can best describe Raaj Kumar who was anything but unconventional hero of Hindi cinema.

His career spanned over four decades, he enjoys a unique place in Hindi cinema, his unorthodox looks that were opposite to the ‘tall, dark and handsome’ epithet. He was known for his self-assured, intrepid dialogue delivery and that stylish walk which made him the cynosure of all eyes.
