No, don’t get the title and the lyrics confuse you even for a minute. This is not a bhajan or a devotional song that I am writing about. It is a dance number from the movie Secret Superstar. Here Aamir Khan is seen in a completely different getup where he plays the character of Shakti Kumaar, singer-composer who has bizarre looks and a wacky attitude which is seen in the song completely.

Sung by Mika Singh, the song is composed by Amit Trivedi. This combination too is a little wacky, don’t you agree? Mika is his usual self and that suits the style of the song and the character for which he is singing.

The premise of the song is that the singer is releasing his first YouTube video and it is a dedication to the Secret Superstar. The singer declares this and the song starts and you are immediately pulled into a world that is far out and you end up wondering whether this is a gag or really the song features in the movie. Whatever the case is you will end up enjoying this crazy ride for sure.

Aamir’s dance moves are as freaky as his jacket and the lyrics are as out of the ordinary as his hairstyle is. It is choreographed by Sanya Malhotra, who played the character of Babita Phogat in Dangal, who is a professionally trained dancer. She has really given a comical treatment to this song by adding all those weird steps; combined with the unique lyrics it becomes really hilarious with Aamir’s expressions as cherry on the cake! Look at him when he says “Main toh rang rang jaungi.”

The movie is produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao and is directed by Advait Chandan. It is slated for a Diwali release. Looks like there is going to be quite a lot of boom this Diwali despite the ban on crackers.
