Earlier we have seen articles which have shown us the emotional bond between families, specific relationships etc. where all sorts of emotions made their way. But this particular collection goes beyond the family ties and directly hits the right strings in our hearts regardless of the relationship featured in the song. 1. Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin Hindi – Agneepath (2012)
The song Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin is from the movie Agneepath, brilliantly sung by Sonu Nigam. The song shows the bond and love between a brother and his sister. Featuring Hrithik Roshan, the song became an immense hit. High on emotions and the fabulous lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and the beautiful dramatic tune is created by music director duo Ajay-Atul. The song shows the highest level of outstanding playback singing by the great Sonu Nigam.
2. Kal Ki Hi Baat Hai – Chhichhore (2019)
Kal Ki Hi Baat Hai is a very sentimental song from the movie Chhichhore. KK sang his heart out in this song. Super lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya decribes a father’s undying love for his child and their lovely journey since his birth. Pritam has composed this out of the world tune. The song is from Nitesh Tiwari’s Hindi film on friendship featuring Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, and Naveen Polishetty.
3. Title Track – Akele Hum Akele Tum (1995)
An emotional movie featuring Aamir Khan and Manisha Koirala, had a very melodious collection of tracks. The music was directed by Anu Malik. The album had a wide range of songs written by Majrooh Sultanpuri. The title track was sung real life father-son duo Udit and Aditya Narayan, creating a great chemistry for the on-screen performance. The video is beautifully shot and fuses the context of the song with the lyrics.
4. Luka Chuppi – Rang De Basanti (2006)
This masterpiece composition by A.R. Rahman can be considered one of the best compositions of all time. The song is very very high on emotions and churns a hurricane of emotions among the listeners. Sung by A.R. Rahman and Lata Mangeshkar this song takes us into a mother’s life who has lost her only son and the fabulous heart touching lyrics by Prasoon Joshi tells the tale of innocent relationship of a mother and her son and gives a nostalgic feeling. The song features Aamir Khan, Waheeda Rehman, R. Madhavan, Soha Ali Khan in an ensemble cast.
5. Maa – Taare Zameen Par (2007)
This song beautifully captures every child’s emotions for their mother, especially when they’re about to leave them for the first time to go someplace else.Sung by Shankar Mahadevan, the beautiful tune is composed by Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonca and penned by Prasoon Joshi. The song became very popular across all age groups after the release. Taare Zameen Par, which was Aamir Khan’s directional debut tells the story of a dyslexic child.
6. Rooth Ke Humse Kahi – Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar(1992)
Rooth ke humse kahin jab chale jaogey is a soft emotional number from the blockbuster Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. The song shows the eternal bond between brothers who are raised without a mother. The song moves into flashback to show the two brothers and their childhood. The song features Aamir Khan remembering good old days after a fatal and life threatening accident injures his elder brother played by Mamik. Sung by Jatin Pandit, the song is penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri and composed by Music Director Duo Jatin-lalit.
7. Tu Kal Chala Jaayega – Naam (1986)
The song features Sanjay Dutt and Kumar Gaurav as brothers in Mahesh Bhatt’s Naam. Sung by Mohammmed Aziz and Manhar Udhas, the tune is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal and written by Anand Bakshi. The song is set on the eve of Vicky’s (played by Sanjay Dutt) departure for Hong Kong to join work. The sentimental song shows mixed feeling of happiness and sadness along with brotherly love. The feeling of pain and separation due to work obligations can be felt from the song.
Dilbaro is a song that perfectly sums up how precious a Father-Daughter relation is! The lyrics have another deep meaning to it. Although this is a ‘bidaai’ song, it also says adieu to this daughter who is going across the border and serving her motherland and the separation might be forever. The song is sung by Harshdeep Kaur, Vibha Saraf & Shankar Mahadevan. Composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy, the heart touching lyrics are penned by the living legend – Gulzar. It is sung by Harshdeep Kaur, The video features Alia Bhatt, Rajit Kapur (playing the father) and Soni Razdhan (mother). It was interesting to see the real-life mother and daughter on screen. The song has Hindi and Kashmiri lyrics and is a treat to hear both the languages in perfect harmony
9. Phir Dekhiye – Rock On (2008)
This song gives me goosebumps. The musical hit Rock On is a story of a band and their friendship and goes beyond just music. This amazing track is sung by Caralisa Monteiro. Her soulful voice fuses dreams and reality. The elegant tune is composed by Shankar, Ehsaan & Loy. The song has a deep meaning of bonding and is written by the evergreen Javed Akhtar.
10. Chithi Na Koi Sandesh – Dushman (1998)
The fabulous song from the thriller Dushman is written by Anand Bakshi and composed by Uttam Singh. The song is sung by the legendary singer Jagjt Singh. This song features Kajol who is lamenting the death of her twin sister.
