Yeh Zindagi… Episode 11
Ayesha’s world came crashing down. Her life had seen so many ups and downs in the past year that she was exhausted beyond limit. First the engagement then the horrifying experience of getting kidnapped. Although she came back safe, a part of her was lost. Then Aakash refused to marry her as if she was not worthy of getting married to anymore. Then Sumeet entered her life. He was like the oasis in the desert. She found her lost part in Sumeet’s company. But she was so disturbed during that time that she could not understand that she was actually in love with him. Yes, she was thankful that he had taken her under his wings at the right time and gave her the space she needed at the same time. The time that she had spent with him was precious. The time they spent together in their home; the home which was now broken. Ayesha missed Sumeet dearly.
It was a clear sky that night; very unlike the weather the city generally experienced. It had become very hot and humid. She wished and prayed to god that she would get her love back somehow. Just like the earth was waiting for the rain.

Months passed by and their paths never crossed until that day. Ayesha had gone to the market and suddenly she saw Sumeet. He too looked up at the same time and their eyes meet. Their world stopped spinning at that moment. It was as if the time stood still. Ayesha still had the same effect on Sumeet like she did the very first day. Sumeet’s mere sight had a soothing effect on Ayesha’s aching soul. They wanted to talk to each other; ask how they were doing, but words failed both of them.
It was Sumeet who took the first step forward and talked to Ayesha. This was a welcome relief for the otherwise nervous Ayesha.
“How are you? You look pale; is everything alright?” He said.
“Everything is alright. I’m just not keeping well from the past few days.”
Then again there was an awkward silence. This time Ayesha spoke.
“How is Ritu?” She asked without showing any emotion.
“She’s good.” He answered. He opened his mouth again but decided not to speak.
Ayesha thanked her stars because she didn’t want to hear how happy they were together. Then they talked about the weather and other things and bid each other adieu.
“Sumeet, can you do me a favor?” She suddenly asked. Sumeet looked at her encouragingly.
“Please don’t invite me to the wedding.” She turned and started running away from Sumeet.
He just stood staring at her trying to understand what had just happened. She had said something but had concealed many things at the same time and he wanted to know them all and tell her many things.
